TeleTech Holdings Inc., the international call center company based in Douglas County, has spun off a small technology business it hopes will change the way brands and customers interact.
The 39-employee spinoff, called Humanify, creates mobile phone software to help handle customer-service complaints and consumer inquiries about brands, bringing the industry into the smartphone era.
“The buyers of today and tomorrow are all going to interact with the brands and services they love through an app — 50 percent of interactions are already that way,” said Humanify CEO Mike Betzer. “That’s the way the consumers of today, particularly the younger generation, want to do it.”
TeleTech (Nasdaq: TTEC), which has been diversifying into consulting and other lines of business, has been working on and using aspects of Humanify’s technology for a while, Betzer said.
